The three distinguished keynote speakers for the CIE Midterm Meeting Scientific Conference are now confirmed!
Prof. Stephen Westland (GB) – Professor of Colour Science and Technology at the School of Design, University of Leeds. Prof. Westland has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in the areas of colour measurement, colour imaging, colour design, and machine learning. With his groundbreaking work in colour exploration, particularly in the realms of Colour and AI, Prof. Westland’s insights will significantly enrich our discussions on the latest advancements in light and lighting.
Dr. Dietmar Hager (AT) – Accomplished Austrian Astro-photographer at the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗿 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆. Dr. Hager is also a specialist in trauma and hand surgery, leading international courses. His medical precision enhances his astrophotography, creating captivating presentations. Dr. Hager’s expertise in star photography perfectly aligns with our scientific agenda, promising to bring a unique and fascinating perspective to the conference.
Prof. George Brainard (USA) – Director of the Light Research Program and Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience at Thomas Jefferson University. He has authored numerous research articles, book chapters, and standards for the CIE and IES. With over 40 years of research on the effects of light on biological and behavioral responses, Prof. Brainard’s presentation will focus on “Light and Human Health,” exploring topics such as phototransduction, melanopsin, ipRGC, circadian rhythms, neuroendocrine and neurobehavioral effects, melatonin, human health, and implications for space flight.
