Here you can view the current programme outline for the CIE 2025 Midterm Meeting. Please note that this is a preliminary version, and timings may still change.

The Scientific Conference (July 7–9, 2025) at the Austria Center Vienna will feature three parallel sessions covering advancements in light and lighting science, including AI in lighting, controls, and measurement, digitalization in metrology, VR/AR displays, health effects of lighting, sustainability topics such as sky glow reduction, along with many other relevant subjects. Workshops from CIE Divisions will be integrated into the programme, fostering interactive discussions on emerging challenges, with several workshops exploring topics from multiple disciplines.

The first full  programme overview for the Scientific Conference, including all keynotes, workshops, and thematically grouped parallel sessions of the conference, is now available as a PDF. In addition, the programme for the Division and Technical Committee (TC) Meetings has now been published and can also be found here.

Social Events

• Welcome Reception (July 6, 2025) at the Vienna City Hall – Join us in a historic venue celebrating the 100th anniversary of its illumination.
• Networking Event for Students & CIE Newcomers (July 7, 2025) at Dschungel Café Fürstenhof – A relaxed evening with food, drinks, and networking opportunities.
• Gala Dinner (July 8, 2025) at Wolke 19, Ares Tower – A prestigious evening with a three-course meal and live music.
• Sightseeing Tour (July 7, 2025) – A nighttime walking tour through Vienna, concluding with a special illumination presentation of Vienna City Hall. It starts at the same location as the Networking Event for Students & CIE Newcomers.
• Light Show at Wiener Rathaus (July 7, 2025) – Illumination show will take place on the facade of Vienna’s iconic Rathaus (City Hall). The show is freely accessible to the public.
• Second CIE Badminton Tournament (July 9, 2025) – A fun and competitive event open to all attendees.

The Board Meetings and General Assembly are private meetings, open by invitation only. The Scientific Conference and Division & TC Meetings (July 10–11, 2025) are open to registered participants.
